BREAKING: Oregon secures the commitment of an electrifying 4-star player, RB

Mater Dei’s highly-rated running back Jordon Davison considered various schools during his recruitment. However, as decision time approached, one school stood out from the rest. He declared his commitment to the Oregon Ducks on Friday, choosing them over strong competitors such as Ohio State, Michigan, and Alabama, as well as more than 25 other offers.

Explaining his decision, Davison mentioned that the Ducks are a rising team, and he sees an opportunity for early playing time and the chance to contribute to a national championship.

During the spring, Davison’s recruitment took a turn when there were coaching changes at some of the schools he was considering. Despite this, he had always held a strong affinity for Oregon, which was further reinforced by the new coach, Ra’Shaad Samples, and head coach Dan Lanning.

“He probably the coolest head coach I have met so far,” Davison said. “He is for sure gonna win the national championship and he for sure is going to have the players and the coaches to do it.”

The approach Oregon took in recruiting Davison was significant to him

He also has a strong affinity for the atmosphere in Eugene and the overall program.

“They have shown me a lot of support,” he remarked. “Their consistency in building relationships and genuinely caring about me and my family stood out. It’s not just about recruiting; they become a part of our lives.”

Davison, who stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 220 pounds, is ranked as the No. 96 overall prospect and the No. 5 running back in the 2025 cycle by On3 Industry Ranking, a comprehensive ranking system that incorporates input from all major recruiting media companies. He is also listed as the No. 8 player in California.
