The New Jersey Devils have traded for forward Nathan Legare from the Montreal Canadiens, sending forward Arnaud Durandeau in return.
Both players are ineligible to participate in NHL games for the rest of the season, as they were traded after the Friday NHL Trade Deadline.
Reminder: A player moving from one reserve list to another after the trade deadline is no longer eligible to play in the NHL for the remainder of the season (or post-season)

Durandeau, aged 25 and born in Montreal, was selected 165th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2017 draft. He has been part of trades already this season, moving from the Islanders to the Devils in November in exchange for Tyce Thompson. Having played four games with the Islanders last year, Durandeau has amassed two penalty minutes. This season, in his fifth AHL campaign, he has tallied 18 points in 38 games split between Bridgeport and Utica.
Similarly, Legare is a Montreal native but did not get the chance to play for the Canadiens. Known as a robust depth forward willing to block shots, he has accrued nine points in 39 games with Laval. Legare, selected 74th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2019, spent two seasons with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins before departing the team last summer.
Both Durandeau and Legare are set to become restricted free agents (RFAs) this summer. Durandeau is on a one-year contract worth 789,167 in the NHL.
