Minneapolis Providence Academy’s three-star defensive lineman, has committed to the University of Minnesota, making the announcement on Friday evening.
He opted for the in-state Golden Gophers over offers from Kansas State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin.
Ranked as the No. 844 overall prospect and the No. 75 defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting cycle by the On3 Industry Ranking, which aggregates data from the four major recruiting media companies, Tarawallie also holds the No. 5 spot among players in Minnesota.
Even though his official visit is scheduled for the upcoming weekend, the 6-foot-2.5, 265-pound player wasted no time in declaring his commitment. After revealing his top four choices at the end of May, Tarawallie is now a valuable addition to a top-40 recruiting class for P.J. Fleck and the Minnesota coaching staff.
Details on Minnesota’s Recruiting
With the addition of Tarawallie, the Gophers have secured commitments from 12 players in the 2025 class. This has propelled Minnesota to the No. 40 spot in the national rankings and No. 13 within the Big Ten, as per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Tarawallie marks the fifth local prospect to choose Minnesota in this cycle, joining talents like Minneapolis Robbinsdale Cooper’s four-star linebacker, Emmanuel Karmo, and Andover Senior’s three-star wide receiver, Cameron Begalle.
Standing out as the highest-ranked pledge in the group, Karmo holds the No. 339 overall position and is considered the top player in Minnesota. He is one of the two standout prospects in the class, the other being Laguna Beach’s four-star quarterback, Jackson Kollock, who ranks as the No. 28 signal-caller in the country.
Among other notable commitments in this class are Middleton’s three-star defensive lineman, Torin Pettaway, Mentor’s three-star tight end, Cross Nimmo, Covington’s three-star cornerback, Zachry Harden, and Avon’s three-star EDGE player, Enoch Atewogbola.
