Six injured Manly Sea Eagles players have been updated prior to their Round 18 matchup with the North Queensland Cowboys.
Star fullback Tom Trbojevic has returned to the team, but the team will be missing a number of players, including Corey Waddell, who is sidelined this week due to an ankle injury.
Taniela Paseka, a forward for the club, has undergone successful repair surgery and is back to “field based running,” according to head physiotherapist Chris Bailey. He will be back on the NRL field in a few weeks.
Additionally, Bailey has given updates on Aaron Woods, Jake Arthur, Lachlan Croker, and Matthew Lodge.
Aaron Woods (calf) is anticipated to soon resume team exercises, and backup playmaker Jake Arthur recovered from a stress fracture in his foot through surgery. Arthur’s projected return date is four months from now, meaning he will miss the rest of the season.
Hooker Lachlan Croker (neck) is still making progress in team training, but it is unclear when he will be back on the field.
Additionally, according to Bailey, front-row player Matthew Lodge (bicep) “remains on track to return to play 12 weeks post surgery” and is healing nicely after his operation.
