Major Roster Move: Oregon State Beavers Part Ways with Experienced Defensive Star

A recent entry into the transfer portal this cycle was Oregon State defensive back Ian Massey. Last month, he revealed his plan to transfer, and it seems he has now made a choice.

 

On Tuesday evening, Massey announced his commitment to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes’ football program via X. He will have one season of eligibility left.

Now a redshirt senior graduate student, the 219-pound defender did not see any game action for the Beavers in 2023. Over three seasons at Oregon State, Massey played in five games. Originally from Houston, Texas, he spent two seasons at Trinity Valley Community College, where he recorded 78 tackles, two interceptions, six pass breakups, and six tackles for loss.

Oregon State’s 2024 season, the first under head coach Trent Bray, kicks off on August 31 as they host Idaho State.
