Kansas football hoping for Bai Jobe commitment after official visit
Bai Jobe is essentially a high school recruit with an extra year of experience, having redshirted his freshman season at Michigan State. He was a highly-touted 4-star recruit out of Community Christian School, ranked the 55th-best player in the country by 247Sports. Since entering the transfer portal, Jobe has been rated the 18th-best EDGE rusher and a top-200 player overall.
Despite only playing football since 2018, the Senegal native has demonstrated immense talent and athleticism as a front-four player. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, Jobe has worked to improve his explosiveness by dropping weight. As the highest-ranked player in Michigan State’s 2023 recruiting class, his potential is evident.
Kansas and Mississippi State are considered the frontrunners in Jobe’s recruitment, though he also has a visit scheduled to UTSA. A decision could come as soon as next week if he does not plan any additional visits. The fact that Kansas received the first official visit is seen as a positive sign for the Jayhawks.
The Jayhawks need to fill the void left by the departure of All-Big 12 First-Team EDGE rusher Austin Booker to the NFL.
