JUST IN: Former Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers and Sunderland man ‘in contention’ for two EFL jobs

According to reports, former Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers striker David Healy is being considered for the vacant managerial positions at both Cheltenham Town and Morecambe.

Cheltenham Town are searching for a new head coach after Darrell Clarke left the club to take over at Barnsley. Meanwhile, Morecambe have been without a manager since Ged Brannan’s departure last month.

Football Insider reports that Healy, who has no previous experience managing in the EFL, is a contender for both roles. Despite his lack of managerial experience at the professional level, both Cheltenham and Morecambe are said to be willing to take a chance on the 44-year-old former Northern Ireland international.

Healy enjoyed a successful playing career, most notably with Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers. However, this would mark his first foray into management in the English Football League if he were to be appointed by either Cheltenham or Morecambe.
