The University of Michigan is anticipated to actively seek a linebacker in the portal, as current linebacker Jaishawn Barham is anticipated to assume an edge role in the upcoming season. Here comes Troy Bowles, a former LB for Georgia. The rookie linebacker, who visited the defending national champions today, would be ideal in Barham’s place. He has the size (6-0, 220) and speed to make an immediate impression in Ann Arbor, even though his stats don’t stand out.
Upon arriving at the Georgia campus, Bowles, a four-star cornerback out of high school, switched to his current position as a linebacker.
Bowles’ close relationship with current linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary seems to give the Wolverines an inside edge. who previously hired him and will undoubtedly play a significant role in this round of transfer portal recruitment. Troy has grown up surrounded by football and is the son of current Tampa Bay Buccaneer head coach Todd Bowles.
The younger Bowles also benefits from being a coach’s kid, which is advantageous given the intellectual demands of starting linebacker at a school like Michigan. The linebacker room would immediately gain equity if he were paired with Ernest Hausmann. Hopefully, the snowstorm did not interfere with the linebacker’s visit from the South; it would be good to see him wearing The Winged Helmet next year
