Last week, many sent out prayers for “College GameDay” host Lee Corso after it was revealed he would miss the Week 7 show in Eugene, Oregon—marking his second consecutive absence—due to health issues.
However, he made a joyful comeback in Week 8 in Austin, Texas, much to the excitement of college football fans. Before the show aired, he shared an emotional update about a family member’s health in a video shared by fellow host Kirk Herbstreit on X. “I’m wearing this pin to support brain cancer research. My granddaughter had a tumor removed from her brain,” Corso said, fighting back tears. “She’s okay now, but I wear this pin for brain cancer research.” Herbstreit replied, “Oh gosh, that’s wonderful that you’re supporting research for her.” LC is BACK!!!!

Corso shared that his granddaughter, who is in her 30s, is doing well and is on her way to recovery. True to form, Herbstreit checked in on his friend after hearing such difficult news. “Everyone is thinking about you and your family,” he said. Corso also expressed how much he’s missed being part of the “College GameDay” shows during the past two weeks as he focused on his health and family. “I missed the Duck and Brutus,” Corso exclaimed. “It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and I can’t believe I missed it.”
