Just In: Elite star Defensive Tackle commit shuts down his recruitment to Purdue

Purdue bolstered its 2025 recruiting class by securing a commitment from three-star defensive tackle , who had also been considering Indiana and Wisconsin.

Drayden, a three-star defensive lineman, verbally committed to Purdue on Tuesday, becoming the 10th player to do so for the 2025 recruiting class under coach Ryan Walters. Before his decision, Pavey had garnered more than 20 offers.

Making the announcement on social media, Pavey had narrowed down his choices to Purdue, Wisconsin, and Indiana following visits to these schools this month.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 305 pounds, Pavey is ranked among the top 100 defensive linemen in the 2025 class and is seen as one of Ohio’s top 50 prospects.

During the previous season, Pavey demonstrated his skills with 53 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks. He is only the second defensive lineman to commit to Purdue in the 2025 class, with the first being Landon Brooks in March.

Coach Walters and his team have been active in recruiting, securing five commitments since June 1, reflecting a busy summer for the Purdue staff.
