BREAKING: Duke Coach Gets Bruttaly Honest, Makes Major Accusation About Transfer Portal

The transfer portal remains a contentious issue in college sports, and Duke head coach Jon Scheyer has only fueled the controversy. During an interview on The Devils Den: A Duke Athletics Podcast, Scheyer revealed insights into the use of the transfer portal against the Blue Devils.

His remarks suggested possible violations of NCAA rules, highlighting a lack of enforcement regarding transfer portal conduct. Scheyer also mentioned that all seven departing players were contacted by other programs during the season.

“There’s tampering all the time,” Scheyer said of the state of college basketball. “I could tell you the seven guys that we had transfer, all seven of them were contacted throughout the season.”

Some of Duke’s notable transfers include former five-star Sean Stewart (now at Ohio State), third-team All-ACC point guard Jeremy Roach (now at Baylor), and former five-star TJ Power (now at Virginia).

Fortunately for Duke, they have secured the No. 22 spot in the transfer portal class and the No. 1 recruiting class, led by five-star talent Cooper Flagg, who has impressed while training with the Olympic team. The Blue Devils’ recruiting class consists of six players, all of whom rank in the top 40 in the country, with five of them ranking in the top 20.

Regarding the tampering in the transfer portal, the NCAA has displayed minimal action, indicating that putting an end to it is not imminent.
