BREAKING: Duke Basketball head coach Jon Scheyer Announce Signing of French Top Super Star

According to recent insider information, the Duke basketball coaching staff had shown keen interest in recruiting Nolan Traore. Despite never publicly confirming any offers from Duke or visits from the Durham coaches, it appears that Jon Scheyer and his team were actively pursuing the talented 6-foot-5 guard from France, who is already being projected as a likely lottery pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

As detailed in a feature by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Traore decided to turn down offers from various programs worldwide to stay in France, ultimately choosing to sign with the French club Saint-Quentin. Givony also mentioned that besides Duke, other schools such as Arkansas, Gonzaga, and Alabama were actively recruiting the 18-year-old prospect.

Reflecting on the attention from these notable programs, Traore shared with Givony his appreciation for their interest in him. Givony further highlighted that the skilled and rapidly rising perimeter player is quickly gaining recognition and moving up the rankings for the 2025 NBA Draft.

“Traore was a projected lottery pick in ESPN’s first 2025 mock draft published in February, but will be ranked in the top-5 in the next update after an explosive spring that featured standout showings in different venues across the globe.”

In the meantime, the Duke basketball recruiting staff must be thrilled with their successful recruitment of a deep and talented group of six incoming freshmen for the class of 2024. This highly touted collection of players is considered the best in the nation, with standout prospects like five-star forward Cooper Flagg leading the pack. Flagg is currently the top contender to be selected as the number one overall draft pick next year.

Nearly all of these new Blue Devil recruits are currently in Durham this week, participating in K Academy and familiarizing themselves with their future campus and surroundings before officially moving in this summer.
