The Ducks have brought up goalie Alex Stalock on an emergency basis from the San Diego Gulls, which is Anaheim’s main development team in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Stalock, aged 36 (born on July 28, 1987), has played in 179 NHL games throughout his career with Chicago (2022-23), San Jose (2010-16 & 2021-22), and Minnesota (2016-20). He has achieved a record of 70 wins, 65 losses, and 20 ties with 11 shutouts, maintaining a 2.70 goals-against average (GAA) and a .908 save percentage (SV%). Having signed a one-year deal on August 7, 2023, Stalock has participated in 12 games with San Diego in the 2023-24 season, recording a 3.72 GAA and a .894 SV%.
Weighing in at 170 pounds and standing at 5 feet 11 inches tall, Stalock was nominated as one of the three finalists for the Bill Masterton Trophy last year. This recognition came after he overcame health challenges, including myocarditis following COVID-19 complications, which restricted his participation in most of the 2020-21 season before making a comeback in 2021-22. Hailing from St. Paul, Minnesota, Stalock has a track record of 109 wins, 91 losses, and 21 ties with 12 shutouts, a 2.68 GAA, and a .909 SV% in 229 AHL matches spread across his time with teams like San Diego, Bakersfield, San Jose, Iowa, Toronto, Worcester, and Peoria.
