JUST IN: Dolphins are interested in adding former Cincinnati Bengals
According to The Athletic, the Miami Dolphins are interested in acquiring former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd.
Boyd, aged 29, entered the NFL when he was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2016 NFL draft and has remained with the team for the past eight seasons. In the recent season, Boyd secured 67 receptions for 667 yards and two touchdowns, primarily operating as the third target throughout the season.
Initially, as reported by The Athletic, Boyd displayed significant interest in joining the Pittsburgh Steelers at the beginning of the offseason but did not find the offer satisfactory. Subsequently, Boyd has received preliminary interest from various teams including the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, and San Francisco 49ers.
The experienced NFL player would be a valuable addition to the Miami Dolphins’ offensive lineup, as they currently lack a definite third receiving option. Despite the combined 2,813 receiving yards from Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle last season, injuries to both players in the latter part of the season exposed Miami’s offensive vulnerabilities. The Dolphins are actively seeking a new third option, as evidenced by their recent meeting with free agent receiver Odell Beckham Jr. two weeks ago.
