Celtic hopes for a more feasible route from the youth ranks to the first squad as they invest in their academy and the resources made accessible to budding talent.

A key component of Celtic’s plan to support that ambition is the renovation of the training facility at Barrowfield.

Brendan Rodgers has expressed his desire to install a new Professional Pathway Manager in order to properly prepare children for the senior setup.

Despite the persistence of English teams interested in Scotland, Celtic will not only rely on nurturing potential from an early age but will also be aiming to sign some of the best players in their mid-teens from around the nation.

One player they are rumored to be interested in is Callan Hamill, a St Johnstone prospect who is making a major impression on scouts.

According to The Athletic, 15-year-old Hamill is reportedly working with Arsenal in preparation for a possible summer transfer.

He can’t join with another team until he turns 16, although Celtic and the Gunners are reportedly interested in him in advance of a 2025 transfer.

Although Hamill is a right-back, he can also play as a center option, suggesting that his entire positional development path is yet unknown. With a Scotland youth cap, his future in the game appears to be bright.

Arsenal should be leading the race to sign him at this point, but Celtic might want to give him a training look as well, as there is still a full year until choices are made.

It is imperative that Celtic develops into a hub for developing the finest Scottish players, regardless of the club they began their careers at. Ideally, the Bhoys can begin to demonstrate that their facilities can develop talent on par with those of the top European teams.
