“something special is building in East Lansing”
Braylon Collier, a wide receiver from Sandusky (Ohio) Perkins, has informed On3 that he has made a decision to commit to Michigan State University. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete opted to join the team led by head coach Jonathan Smith and his coaching staff, rejecting offers from Iowa State, Iowa, and several other schools.
Collier recently visited East Lansing officially and was impressed with the environment. He becomes the fifth commitment for the 2025 recruitment cycle. Describing his choice, Collier mentioned the strong family vibe that the new coaching staff has cultivated, highlighting the support and comfort provided by receivers coaches Courtney Hawkins and Cordale Grundy.
“Geographically it’s two and a half hours away. That’s convenient for me and my family. Doing my research on the players they have coming and leaving and Coach Hawk and Coach Grundy they were great to my family and treated us like royalty all weekend during my official visit.”
Collier expressed his enthusiasm about contributing to the resurgence of Michigan State as a dominant force in the Big Ten conference.
He highlighted the excitement of having a new coaching staff led by Coach Smith and the addition of Aidan Chiles. Collier emphasized the feeling that something extraordinary is being developed in East Lansing, and he is looking forward to playing a part in it.
During his junior year, Collier demonstrated his skills by turning 84 receptions into more than 1,200 yards and scoring 18 touchdowns.
Collier also pointed out Coach Hawkins’ successful track record of sending players to the professional league, citing examples like Jayden Reed and Keon Coleman. He expressed his ambition to reach the next level and appreciated Hawkins’ experience as a nine-year receiver in the league. Collier looks forward to improving his game under Hawkins’ guidance.
