JUST IN: The Bengals are open to trading another brilliant wide receiver, per ESPN

Cincinnati’s front office has shifted its position on retaining the standout wide receiver. The Bengals are known for being uncompromising in negotiations involving players they hold in high regard, a scenario that was especially evident with Tee Higgins last season.

However, with limited attractive alternatives currently available, they are now open to exploring potential offers for the 25-year-old wide receiver, as per insights shared by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. In a statement on SportsCenter, Fowler mentioned, “[Tee Higgins] is seeking a move and has formally requested a trade. I’ve conversed with several interested teams who believe that the Bengals may entertain offers, which is a departure from their firm stance just a year ago when trading him was off the table.”

Various teams are anticipated to make attempts to acquire Higgins, with notable interest from the New England Patriots, who are actively seeking receiver assistance. There is a possibility that they may be willing to part with a Day 2 draft pick to secure Higgins’ services.

This development arises a month ahead of the NFL Draft. At this juncture, it seems plausible that the Bengals could opt to permit Higgins’ departure for a second-round pick rather than risk receiving only a compensatory pick if he departs in the future.

The unfolding situation is one to monitor in the weeks ahead as the Bengals weigh their options regarding Higgins’ future with the team.
