Just In: Another Bruins’ Sensational key-player ruled out of Game 4 against Panthers

Brad Marchand, the Boston Bruins’ captain and all-time leading playoff goal scorer, will miss Game 4 of their series against the Florida Panthers due to an upper-body injury sustained in Game 3.

This marks the first time Marchand has missed a postseason game in his career, ending a streak of 156 consecutive playoff appearances. Coach Jim Montgomery attributed Marchand’s absence to an injury sustained during a check in Game 3, although he did not confirm whether Marchand had suffered a concussion. The incident in question involved a punch to the head from Florida’s Sam Bennett, who escaped supplemental discipline from the league.

Montgomery took responsibility for the Bruins’ lack of retaliation during the game, citing the need to focus on getting back into the game. The Bruins are unhappy about the incident and plan to make life difficult for Florida’s top players in response. With Marchand out, the team will need to come together to fill the void left by their inspirational leader.
