JUST IN: 28-years-old-brilliant star Inks New 4-Year, $45M Deal with Jaguars During Free Agency

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Foye Oluokun has solidified his position with the team by signing a new extended contract.

As reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Oluokun’s fresh agreement covers a four-year period and is valued at $45 million. Notably, this contract includes $22.5 million guaranteed at the time of signing, ensuring Oluokun’s commitment to the Jaguars until the end of the 2027 season.

The new contract was reached as Oluokun was approaching the last year of his prior three-year, $45 million deal signed with the Jaguars in March 2022. It is important to highlight that the previous agreement had no remaining guaranteed funds and included three void years spanning from 2025 to 2027.

For the Jaguars, this fresh agreement serves a twofold function. It not only cements Oluokun’s position within the team but also aids in reducing his significant salary cap impact for the forthcoming season. Presently, Oluokun holds a cap hit of $21.8 million, positioning him as the fourth highest on the team, trailing behind Christian Kirk, Josh Allen, and Cam Robinson.
Remarkably, he topped the league in tackles for both 2021 (192) and 2022 (184). His impressive count of 239 solo tackles over the past two seasons highlights his defensive excellence, surpassing all other NFL players during that period
Benefiting from Oluokun’s defensive contributions and standout displays from players such as Josh Allen and Travon Walker, who collectively achieved 27.5 sacks in the previous season, the Jaguars have established a strong defensive core.Moving forward, by leveraging a promising draft to address other areas requiring improvement, the team could enhance their competitiveness within the AFC South.
This strategic approach may position them as strong contenders, potentially challenging the Houston Texans for the divisional lead in the upcoming season.
