ITS OFFICIAL: Hawks set to Re-Signing Free Agent Guard.

The Atlanta Hawks made a significant move this summer when they dealt former All-Star Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for four players and two first-round draft picks, following a dismal 2023–24 campaign.

There are also reports that Atlanta may trade three-time All-Star Trae Young in the near future.

According to ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Vit Krejci has agreed to a four-year contract worth $10 million to return to the Hawks, meaning that another player will be sticking with the franchise.

The 24-year-old 6-foot-8, 195-pound Krejci debuted in the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2021–2022 campaign. He played 23.0 minutes a game that season and averaged 6.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.

He played for the Iowa Wolves in the G League for a brief period of time before spending the last two seasons with the Hawks.

Atlanta has been a middling or average team for the majority of the previous fifty years or more, with the exception of two surprising trips to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2015 and 2021.

Despite his fame, not many consider Young to be a true franchise player or someone who can lead a club to victory. Atlanta will eventually have to make a decision on whether to continue with him or trade him in order to start over and acquire some assets.

Perhaps this is the perfect time for the Hawks to rebuild, with the East becoming a much more formidable opponent.
