Iowa State Celebrate Massive Exciting News On Thursday
Iowa State basketball secured its first commitment from the transfer portal for the 2025 class on Thursday, with Eric Mulder from Purdue Fort Wayne making his pledge.
Standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 225 pounds, Mulder hails from Oskaloosa, Iowa, and is set to “come home” as he joins the Cyclones’ roster for 2025.
This past season, Mulder proved to be one of the country’s most efficient shooters, hitting 76.3% of his shots (87-114) while averaging 8.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in 2024-25

The previous year, Mulder excelled, finishing 13th nationally in field goal percentage at 69.7% and starting all 35 games for the Mastodons.
Iowa State fell short of its high hopes for the 2024-25 season. The team, plagued by injuries and missing its second-leading scorer and top assist provider, was defeated by Ole Miss in the Round of 32 last weekend, sending the Cyclones home much earlier than anticipated.

After reaching as high as No. 2 in the AP poll with a strong 15-1 start, the Cyclones finished the season with an 11-9 record, ending up with a total of 25-10 and not much to show for their efforts.
On a positive note, as long as T.J. Otzelberger remains in Ames, Iowa State is poised to be a formidable team and a desirable destination for players.
