Intriguing News: The Maryland Terrapins & head coach Buzz Williams Yet Again Anticipate A Good news
The Maryland Terrapins made a significant addition to their roster with the commitment of four-star transfer guard Isaiah Watts, a key pickup for new head coach Buzz Williams.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard comes to Maryland after two seasons at Washington State, where he appeared in 54 games and started 17. During the 2024–25 season, Watts averaged 11.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He recorded three 20-point performances, including a career-best 22-point outing against Eastern Washington.
Known for his scoring ability and explosive play, Watts brings more than just offense—he’s also a strong, versatile defender. Recognizing his two-way potential, Williams didn’t hesitate to pursue him once he entered the transfer portal.
“Isaiah is an athletic shooting guard who adds a dynamic element to our offense with his scoring and range,” Williams said. “What really stands out is his ability to impact both ends of the court. His athleticism and defensive edge align perfectly with our defense-first mindset. He can defend multiple positions, and his energy on defense will help shape our identity. His all-around game makes him a key piece as we continue building a program focused on toughness and offensive versatility.”
