Intriguing News: RJ Davis Send Four-Word Message to Elliot Cadeau Following Major Transfer Portal Decision
After reaching the Sweet 16 in last season’s NCAA Tournament, the North Carolina Tar Heels narrowly qualified for this year’s field of 68, securing one of the last four spots.
Guided by their standout guards RJ Davis and Elliot Cadeau, the Tar Heels delivered their best performance of the season in the First Four, defeating San Diego State. Unfortunately, their run came to an end just a few days later when they lost to Ole Miss in the opening round.
Moving forward, the Tar Heels will have to adjust without their two starting guards. Davis, who played five seasons in Chapel Hill, is likely headed to the professional ranks, while Cadeau, a sophomore, has decided to enter the transfer portal.
According to a report by On3’s Joe Tipton on Monday, Cadeau will be joining the Michigan Wolverines for the 2025-26 college basketball season. Michigan also reached the Sweet 16 this season but was eliminated by the Auburn Tigers.
Shortly after the announcement, Davis, who shared two seasons with Cadeau, expressed his excitement for his former teammate through a four-word message on his Instagram Story: “rock out brudda man.”
Cadeau arrived at North Carolina in 2023 and quickly established himself as one of the ACC’s top playmakers. In his freshman year, he averaged 4.1 assists, which increased to 6.2 in his sophomore season.
His scoring efficiency also improved significantly from his first to his second year. In the 2023-24 season, he averaged 7.3 points with a shooting percentage of 41.7% and 18.9% from three-point range, while in the current season, he increased his average to 9.4 points with 44.5% shooting and 33.7% from beyond the arc
