Interesting: John Wall Send Strong Message To Kentucky And BBN After A Brief Interaction With Kentucky Head Coach Mark Pope
I’m sure I can express what many fans of Big Blue Nation feel: watching John Wall play in Lexington was one of my favorite times as a Kentucky Wildcats supporter
Wall was among the first stars to join the team with John Calipari, and he played a key role in bringing immediate success to the program during his tenure.

After Calipari moved to Arkansas, there was some tension among former Kentucky players regarding their loyalty to the program versus the head coach.
However, one player who hasn’t wavered in his support for the University of Kentucky is John Wall himself.
In a recent conversation with Matt Jones from KSR, Wall shared his endorsement of new head coach Mark Pope and the new direction of the program. “I’m happy for Mark Pope. I had the chance to meet him last summer at an EYBL tournament in Indiana. He started strong, although a few injuries hampered the team. For a first year to go that far is impressive. They have some great new players joining, along with solid returnees,” Wall said.
He also emphasized his support for the university and its basketball program: “Kentucky will always feel like home to me. There’s always love. That’s where I played, where I achieved my dream of college basketball at one of the top schools in the country, and it opened doors for me to go to the league. So, yes, I’ll definitely be coming back.”
Wall mentioned that Pope reached out to him about returning to Lexington this summer to work out with the current players, and he plans to make time for it.
It’s evident that Wall feels a strong connection to Kentucky and proudly identifies as a Wildcat
