A Michigan offensive lineman shares his experience with receiving an offer from Kentucky and attending their camp.
Benjamin Eziuka, a rising junior offensive lineman from Detroit Catholic Central, recently garnered his first offer from an SEC and Power Four school during a camp at Kentucky.
Impressed with Kentucky’s top-notch facilities and Coach Stoops’ long tenure in the SEC, Eziuka appreciated the stability the program offers. He was also drawn to the number of players from the Detroit area on the team and admired Coach Wolf’s coaching style, emphasizing smart and physical play.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 310 pounds, Eziuka is not only a talented athlete but also excels academically with a 4.6 GPA. Having been recognized since middle school, he has shined at Catholic Central since his freshman year, receiving ten offers to date, with the Kentucky one holding special significance.
“It is amazing getting my first SEC offer as it is obviously one of the top conferences if not the top conference in college football,” he said. “It means a lot to see a big time program like Kentucky recognize my hard work and skills. I’ve been in contact with a lot of big schools but for one to finally offer is a surreal feeling and I’ll always remember Kentucky for being the first big time school to give me an opportunity to play at the highest level of college football.”
Looking ahead, Eziuka plans to attend camps at Cincinnati on the 10th, Tennessee on the 12th, Michigan on the 17th, and Wisconsin on the 19th
