BREAKING: Cardinals’ Receiver Faces 5-Game Ban

Arizona Cardinals receiver Zay Jones was suspended five games for violating league's conduct policy, Tyler Drake.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones has been suspended for five games due to a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy, as announced by the league on Friday.

Jones was arrested in November on charges of domestic battery, but those charges were dropped in March after evidence was reviewed by authorities.

In May, he signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals that can be worth up to $ 4.25 million, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

He is competing for the WR2 position in training camp alongside second-year player Michael Wilson.

Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 200 pounds, Jones spent the last two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars after signing a three-year contract in 2022. During that time, he tallied 116 receptions for 1,144 yards and seven touchdowns over 25 games (22 of which were starts). In his first year with the Jaguars, he achieved career highs with 82 catches and 823 receiving yards, along with five touchdowns.

At 29 years old, Jones began his NFL career as a second-round pick (No. 37 overall) by the Buffalo Bills in 2017.

He played two full seasons with Buffalo before being traded to the then-Oakland Raiders in 2019 during the season.

That year, he appeared in 10 games for the Raiders and went on to play 33 games, making 11 starts, for the Las Vegas franchise from 2020 to 2021.
