Two highly-touted baseball players from Rankin County have committed to the University of Southern Mississippi.
Jackson Meehan from Northwest Rankin High School and Taylor Latham from Hartfield Academy announced their commitment on Sunday.
Meehan, a right-handed pitcher/shortstop, and Latham, also a right-handed pitcher, are both ranked among the top 10 high school prospects in the class of 2026 from Mississippi, as reported by Prep Baseball Mississippi.
I am so blessed to be able to say that I am committed to University of Southern Miss. I am so grateful for everyone that got me to this point especially my Mom. Couldn’t have done any of this without her. Thank you for this opportunity and cant wait to be an Eagle. SMTTT🦅 pic.twitter.com/JUjJEOXTWC
