Just In: Oregon State Lands Key Commitment as Coach Rueck announces the addition of a Spanish international star player

Oregon State bolstered their women’s basketball team with another international addition on Tuesday, as Spanish wing Cloe Vecina officially joined the Beavers.

Vecina, hailing from Celta Baloncesto Femenino and having played three games with Celta Zorka in the Spanish senior league, comes in as a freshman.

Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck expressed his enthusiasm for Vecina’s decision to join the team, praising her versatility as a combo guard who can excel both on and off the ball.

Rueck highlighted Vecina’s court vision, smart offensive skills, and sharp shooting abilities.

Vecina cited Oregon State as the ideal setting for her growth as both a player and a person, attracted by the welcoming atmosphere and the opportunity provided by Coach Rueck and his staff.

Her selection for the Spanish U18 national team training for the 2024 U18 EuroBasket this summer further underscores her potential.

Vecina joins Lucia Navarro as the second Spanish signee for Oregon State this offseason, adding to the Beavers’ international flavor alongside other players like Susana Yepes and Kelsey Rees.
