“Huge Boost” as Another Michigan pursuing 5-star corner commits to Purdue

In the latest Recruiting Roundup, the focus is on a five-star cornerback who has committed to Purdue but is being pursued by Michigan, a top-100 2025 linebacker recently hosted by Michigan on a visit, and a top-100 2026 local athlete who revisited Ann Arbor for the spring game.

Michigan is actively pursuing Tarrion Grant, a top-50 five-star cornerback in the 2025 class who is currently committed to Purdue.

Grant acknowledged that he is “100% locked in” with his commitment to Purdue, but he is still interested in visiting Michigan and speaking with the new defensive backs coach, Lamar Morgan, with whom he has already built a good relationship.

Grant was impressed by Michigan’s success last season, including their playoff appearance and the recent NFL draft selection of cornerback Mike Sainristil. He believes he could fit well in Michigan’s defense, potentially playing opposite star cornerback Will Johnson.

Michigan is making a strong push to flip Grant’s commitment, as landing elite defensive backs is a priority for the program. The coaching staff will continue to recruit Grant and try to get him on campus for a visit in the hopes of swaying his decision.

Top-100 2025 Linebacker Visits Michigan, Plans Official Visit

Highly regarded 2025 four-star linebacker, Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, recently visited Michigan and expressed his intention to return for an official visit in June. Ranked as the 69th best player in his class and the ninth best linebacker on the 247 Composite, Owusu-Boateng shared his positive experience during the visit with The Wolverine’s E.J. Holland.

He highlighted the opportunity to meet the coaches, particularly Coach BJ (Brian Jean-Mary) and Coach Wink (Martindale), and observe the program’s attention to detail and care for all aspects, which left a strong impression on him and his family.

Owusu-Boateng mentioned the visit from Michigan’s head coach, Sherrone Moore, to IMG Academy in January and emphasized the continuity and growth of his relationship with Coach BJ, dating back to their time at Tennessee. He praised Michigan’s football legacy, noting the program’s history and success in producing NFL talent, with 13 players drafted recently. The linebacker expressed his admiration for the program and his connection with Coach BJ.

Looking ahead, Owusu-Boateng is scheduled for an official visit on June 21, indicating his high level of interest in Michigan. Reflecting on his unofficial visit, he feels confident in his impression of the program but anticipates his official visit to further solidify his perspective. 2026 Four-Star In-State Athlete Speaks After Attending Spring Game

C.J. Sadler, a highly-ranked 2026 four-star athlete from Detroit, recently visited the University of Michigan for their spring game.

Positive Impressions of Michigan

• Sadler, who is rated 89th overall in the 2026 class, 6th among athletes, and the top 2026 recruit from Michigan, had a great experience on his visit.
• He noted the “family” atmosphere at Michigan and how the coaches, including new wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy, made him feel like a priority.
• Sadler praised Bellamy, who he knew from Bellamy’s time as a head coach at West Bloomfield, as a “great leader” and “great mentor.”
