Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels receive unfortunate recruiting news
One of the first rumored targets for North Carolina in the transfer portal was former Nevada forward Nick Davidson, who entered a few weeks ago. Right away, the Tar Heels contacted Davidson but were not the only team to do so as he had a list of programs after him.
Now on Sunday, Davidson made a key update to his recruitment by trimming down his list. The forward is down to five schools, focusing on Virginia, Washington, Texas, Notre Dame, and Clemson. That’s a tough hit for the Tar Heels who need some help on the wing for next season.
The 6-foot-10 junior was one of the top wings in the portal and seemingly was a fit for North Carolina. He averaged 15.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last season for Nevada.

With the Tar Heels losing key players from last season and now having two players in the transfer portal, they need to find a way to improve the roster.
Missing out on targets won’t help.
The good news is that there are still a lot of targets left for the Tar Heels and they even hosted a guard on Saturday out of the transfer portal. There is plenty of time left in the offseason but as more targets move on, UNC is going to need to make a strong impression and find a way to land talent.
