Highly Rated Star Sends Strong Message for Oregon Football

The Oregon Ducks have managed to remain unbeaten after three matches in the 2024 college football season, despite not having the most impressive start. The Ducks began their season with a 24-14 victory over the Idaho Vandals at home, a team that was almost 50 points behind in the odds.

In the following game, the Ducks had to erase a six-point deficit at halftime to defeat the Boise State Broncos in Eugene, with a score of 37-34. However, the Ducks demonstrated their prowess last Saturday when they demolished the Oregon State Beavers in Corvallis, 49-14.

This decisive win against a former Pac-12 adversary was exactly what the Ducks needed to reassure their supporters and persuade the rest of the college football world that they are in good shape. ESPN commentator Kirk Herbstreit shares this view.

In response to a fan’s question about Oregon’s victory over the Beavers, Herbstreit said, “Ducks needed that one after a couple of mediocre performances at the beginning of the season. Hoping they use that one as a stepping stone for the upcoming weeks. Thank you.”

The Ducks’ potent offense was prominently exhibited in their match against Oregon State. Dillon Gabriel successfully made 20 out of 24 passes, amassing 291 yards and two touchdowns, all without a single interception.
In addition, Oregon’s running game contributed 240 yards and four touchdowns on 32 attempts. Although Oregon will encounter more formidable adversaries in the future, it seems they have at last found their groove. Dan Lanning’s team is set to face the UCLA Bruins in Pasadena on September 28.
