HC Scott Satterfield Drops Heartbreaking Update Cincinnati’s Injury Outlook Ahead of Texas Tech Clash

HC Scott Satterfield Provides Injury Update for Cincinnati Ahead of Texas Tech Matchup

Cincinnati is aiming for its first Big 12 victory against a historic team this Saturday.

Injury concerns primarily focus on the left guard position this week. Starter Dartanyan Tinsley left early in the win against Miami (OH) and did not play last week, prompting Jonathan Harder and Deondre Buford to step in. Head coach Scott Satterfield shared an update on Tuesday.

“Tinsley is probably out this week,” Satterfield stated. “So we will likely stick with last week’s lineup. Buford performed well at guard, and Phil Wilder had a strong showing in his first game of the season. He felt good afterward, so we hope he’ll be even stronger this week.”

Neither replacement excelled in the previous game, with Harder receiving a 54.2 PFF grade and Buford a 55.4 grade, but they held up against Houston’s defense. Cincinnati’s depth on the offensive line is being tested early in the 2024 season, although they could welcome back Rob Jackson along the defensive line this week.

“I think Rob Jackson should be back this week, missed last week, so he should be back,” Satterfield said. “So that’ll give us another guy, defensive lineman-wise. So it certainly helps to have the depth that we have this year that we’ve created, and we’ll utilize it and that should help with the conditioning factor.”
