The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the football club has added five American players to the practice roster.  The new additions include defensive backs, receiver,  defensive lineman,  and running back.

Leonard Johnson, 26, previously played in four games for the Toronto Argonauts this season, totaling 24 defensive tackles. The 6’0, 195-pound native of Hayden, Alabama, also had a stint in the NFL with the New York Giants (2023). During his collegiate career at Duke University, Johnson participated in 47 games, recording 165 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two quarterback sacks, six interceptions, 24 passes defended, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Jayden Price, 24, recently played in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons (2024). The 6’0, 185-pound native of Derby, Kansas, played 71 games over five seasons at North Dakota State University (2019-23), achieving 107 total tackles, four tackles for loss, one quarterback sack, three interceptions, 17 passes defended, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries. He also excelled in the return game, totaling 63 punt returns for 910 yards and five touchdowns.

Reggie Brown, 25, previously played with the Kansas City Chiefs (2024). The 6’1, 195-pound native of Lakeland, Florida, participated in 45 games at James Madison University (2019-23), recording 93 receptions for 1,686 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Mario Kendricks, 23, also had experience in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks (2024) after signing as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins (2024). The 6’0, 300-pound native of Kissimmee, Florida, played in 56 games at Virginia Tech, registering 67 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, seven quarterback sacks, and three passes defended.

Lorenzo Lingard, 25, was last with the New York Giants (2024) after signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2024). The 6’0, 205-pound native of Orange City, Florida, wrapped up his collegiate career at the University of Akron, where he played 12 games in 2023, rushing for 641 yards and four touchdowns on 143 carries, and catching 38 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns. He also played 32 games at the University of Florida (2020-22) and started at the University of Miami (2018-19), posting 17 carries for 136 yards and two touchdowns.
