Oklahoma State took a hit in the first week of spring football practice.
Redshirt freshman running back Jaden Allen-Hendrix suffered a lower body injury that will sideline him for a bit, head coach Mike Gundy said Tuesday ahead of the first spring practice with pads. Allen-Hendrix wasn’t seen during the media viewing portion of practice Tuesday.
Gundy said that was the only injury sustained in this first week of spring.
”We’re doing good,” Gundy said. “We had one lower injury on Jaden, but other than that we’re doing pretty good.”
A native of Irmo, South Carolina Allen-Hendrix didn’t play in his first year in Stillwater, but was named the OSU offense co-practice player of the week against Texas Tech. He was a three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class after rushing for 2,215 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior.
Allen-Hendrix is one of five running backs on Oklahoma State’s spring football roster, alongside redshirt sophomore Kalib Hicks, redshirt sophomore Sesi Vailahi, redshirt freshman Rodney Fields and redshirt senior Trent Howland. 2025 three-star signee DJ Dugar is expected to join the team this summer.
Last spring, running back AJ Green suffered what would become a season-ending injury, which led to them signing Howland out of the portal in April. The Cowboys are hosting Georgia State transfer running back Freddie Brock next Tuesday, his agents told 247Sports. He ran for 819 yards and eight touchdowns last season for the Panthers.
