There is a renewed sense of optimism in Wisconsin this week following confirmation that the Green Bay Packers’ starting quarterback, Jordan Love, has returned to training. After securing a victory in Week 2, this is an opportune moment for Love to rejoin the team.
Jordan Love’s Partial Return
If you watched the Packers’ 34-29 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season, you know that Jordan Love sustained a knee injury, prompting the team to adjust their strategy. This shift became evident when backup quarterback Malik Willis led the Packers to a 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. During that game, Willis completed 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his capabilities in Love’s absences.
While Malik Willis had a commendable performance, it appears the Packers may soon welcome back their starting quarterback. Reports indicate that Jordan Love participated in practice on Wednesday for the first time since his injury in Week 1, which is certainly encouraging news. Just this past weekend, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport mentioned that Love was aiming for a return in Week 5 for a game against the Los Angeles Rams. However, his participation in practice suggests he might be recovering faster than expected.

With the news of Jordan Love’s practice participation on Wednesday, it seems that the 25-year-old is progressing faster than expected in his recovery. However, there has been no official announcement regarding his return date. Given Malik Willis’ recent performance, the team may choose to avoid taking any unnecessary risks. Nonetheless, this development is promising for the Packers, who currently hold a 1-1 record as they prepare to face the Titans. The kickoff for that game is scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET, so be sure to tune in.
