Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Has 4-Word Response On Returning In 202

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has had a rough start to the 2024 season. The 40-year-old quarterback returned to action this season after missing 16 games in 2023 due to an Achilles injury.

The New York Jets traded with the Packers for Rodgers in the hopes the four-time NFL MVP could give the team a spark for a Super Bowl run. The Jets haven’t made the playoffs since the 2010 season.

The Jets don’t appear headed back to the postseason this season after a terrible start in 2024. The Jets are 3-7 entering their Week 11 contest against the Indianapolis Colts. The Jets record has stayed under .500 despite firing their head coach (Robert Saleh), trading for Davante Adams, and agreeing to a new deal with pass rusher Haason Reddick.

Many of the Jets issues this season aren’t Rodgers’ fault. However, he is responsible for much of the blame, and he hasn’t played up to his standards. Rodgers is 219-of-351 passing for 2,258 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions through New York’s first 10 games.

Aaron Rodgers on playing in 2025

On Wednesday, Rodgers was asked if the struggles in the 2024 season have impacted his view of playing beyond January. Rodgers said it hadn’t.

Rodgers gave a four-word answer when asked if he wanted to play in 2025:

“I think so, yeah,” Rodgers said, via video from SNY Jets.

Rodgers is under contract with the Jets for the 2025 season. He’s set to become a free agent in 2026. If Rodgers stays with the Jets, the team will have to find a new head coach who’ll work with the idiosyncratic quarterback. After investing so much for Rodgers, owner Woody Johnson had better hope the team can make a miraculous turnaround next season.

The Packers have gone 15-11 since they traded Rodgers to the Jets. Rodgers’ replacement, Jordan Love, helped the Packers win a Wild Card game against the Dallas Cowboys in January.
