Grate Hope For UNC, Coach Hubert Davis & The Tar Heels Convey Good news
In the most recent transfer cycle, head coach Hubert Davis and his UNC basketball program added Cade Tyson, one of the top shooters in the country. Though Tyson did not meet expectations, Davis and his team are taking a similar approach this year.
The Tar Heels appear to be targeting another standout shooter from the transfer portal, who entered the market a bit later than others.
On Sunday, The Portal Report revealed that UNC’s recruitment team is interested in former Chattanooga guard Honor Huff, who topped the nation with 131 three-pointers during his junior season.
As a full-time starter for the Mocs, Huff was highly effective from beyond the arc, earning All-SoCon First Team honors and helping lead Chattanooga to an NIT championship win.

The 5-foot-10, 168-pound sharpshooter averaged 15.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 38 games during his junior year with the Mocs. He played the last two seasons at Chattanooga after starting his career at VMI.
Although he may be slightly undersized, Huff is the kind of shooter who can excel regardless of height, as he requires very little space and separation for his quick-release shot. He could be a worthwhile addition to UNC’s basketball transfer class, which has recently welcomed another talented shooter, West Virginia transfer Jonathan Powell.
