Good News : Padres Receive Massive Excitement After The MLB Community Announces Manny Machado Big News Monday Evening
The San Diego Padres hold a 42-35 record, but their playoff hopes are on shaky ground. They trail the Milwaukee Brewers by just half a game for the final NL Wild Card spot and sit five games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West standings.
After a hot start to the season with seven straight wins, the Padres’ offense has cooled significantly. They rank tied for 18th in runs per game (4.3), sit 27th in home runs (65), and are 22nd in OPS (.695), highlighting their offensive struggles.

Manny Machado
Despite those team-wide issues, third baseman Manny Machado has been a consistent bright spot for San Diego.
Since inking a 10-year, $300 million contract with the Padres in 2019, Machado has been a mainstay in the heart of the lineup, delivering both power and reliability.
Now 32, he’s putting together a strong campaign. In 77 games, Machado has posted an impressive .865 OPS with 12 home runs, 46 RBIs, 30 walks, 8 stolen bases, and a 2.9 WAR.
MLB announced on X today that Machado currently leads all National League third basemen in All-Star voting, receiving 1,683,022 votes.

If chosen, it would be Manny Machado’s seventh All-Star appearance and his third while wearing a Padres uniform. Throughout his 14-year MLB career, he’s collected two Silver Slugger awards, two Gold Gloves, and a Platinum Glove.
Since arriving in San Diego, Machado has been a key contributor, helping guide the team to the playoffs three times. That includes a memorable run to the NLCS in 2023, highlighted by a victory over the rival Dodgers in the Division Series.
