Good News: Nebraska Confirm Massive Commitment Of Three Talented Prospect Tuesday morning
A Nebraska native is coming back to his home state to join the Cornhuskers.
North Platte alum Carter Kelley has announced his commitment to coach Will Bolt and the Nebraska baseball program. The third baseman shared the news via social media on Tuesday morning.

Kelley has spent the past two seasons playing at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. During his freshman year, he posted a .273 batting average, along with a double, four runs, and four RBIs.

This season, he’s significantly improved, hitting .360 with seven doubles, a triple, nine home runs, and 43 RBIs. His team, the 47-11 Cavaliers, is continuing play in the Plains District Championship this afternoon against Fort Scott.
During his high school career, Kelley was a two-time first-team All-Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference honoree. In his senior year, he hit .396 with 57 hits, a school-record 20 doubles, three home runs, 30 runs scored, 23 stolen bases, and 43 RBIs.

Nebraska’s 2025 high school signing class was ranked No. 38 by Perfect Game on fall signing day, marking the program’s highest ranking since joining the Big Ten Conference. In addition to the high school signees, the Huskers are also bringing in several junior college transfers.
