GOOD NEWS: I-471 Inspections Conclude, Unlocking the Reopening of Iconic Local Roads.

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has reopened sections of Pete Rose Way and Riverside Drive located beneath the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge following the completion of inspections.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced on Saturday that inspections of the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge have been completed, leading to the reopening of East Pete Rose Way and Riverside Drive.

In a statement released Saturday afternoon, ODOT confirmed that structural engineers and inspectors have assessed the extent of the damage.

The department noted that the team still needs to analyze their findings to decide how much of the damaged area requires removal and replacement.

ODOT indicated that East Pete Rose Way and Riverside Drive would be open to traffic between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

However, the parking lot beneath the bridge will remain closed as reconstruction efforts continue.

Due to ongoing work in the area, ODOT advises drivers to exercise extra caution while navigating through this active construction site.
