Good news for the Huskies
Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies are in the middle of spring practice but recruiting is still going in full force with lots of things to talk about in the 2026 class. The Huskies recently saw a couple of their top targets narrow down their top schools list (which included UW).
3 star tight end Landen Miree from Princeton HS, OH has been a priority target for the Husky staff for quite a while. Rated as the 36th best tight end in the country, Miree holds offers from around the country. He recently narrowed his recruitment down to FSU, North Carolina, LSU, Auburn, UW and Cincinnati. The Huskies were able to get Miree up for an unofficial visit during their junior day and he got the chance to bond with other Husky targets and check out the program/campus. Miree has scheduled an official visit with UW for the 20th of June and if I had to guess the Huskies are probably in the lead right now for his commitment.
3 star offensive tackle Dominic Harris from Ed W Clark HS, NV narrowed his recruitment down to a top 8 list of schools (which included Arizona, Arkansas, ASU, Auburn, Cal, UNLV, Utah, and UW). Rated as the 49th best offensive tackle in the country and 2nd best player in Nevada, Harris has the size and frame that college programs covet along the offensive line (he’s listed at 6’7” and 335 pounds). The Huskies were one of his first offers and have been recruiting him hard for a while. Right now the Huskies are set to get an official visit from him on the 30th of May. It looks like UW will try and add at least 1 offensive tackle in the 2026 class and Harris is a player who could develop into a top tier tackle after a year or 2 in a college program.

The Huskies also saw a couple targets visit campus this weekend for unofficial visits to check out spring practice. Among those visitors were 3 star quarterback Derek Zammit from DePaul Catholic HS, NJ. There really hasn’t been a ton of talk about the Huskies being involved with Zammit, but it looks like they are one of his top schools along with Alabama and Ohio State.
The Huskies will take 1 quarterback in the 2026 class and it will be interesting to see who they can reel in between Zammit and 4 star quarterback Brady Smigiel who we have talked about as being one of their top targets. Zammit looks very similar to some of the recent QB’s that the Huskies have brought in (Demond Williams, and Dash Beierly from a physical perspective but also from a what they bring to an offense).

3 star twins Beau and Niko Jandreau from Hamilton HS, AZ also made the trek up to Montlake to check out the Huskies this weekend. The Huskies are one of the top schools for both brothers (Niko is being recruited as a defensive back and Beau is being recruited as a linebacker). It looks like Oklahoma may be in the pole position for both of them right now, but UW will get them up for an official visit at the end of May (Beau has official visits scheduled with Oklahoma, Oregon, and USC while Niko has officials scheduled with Oklahoma, SDSU, and Iowa State as well).
