Good News: Baltimore Orioles Receive Another Exciting Injury Update
A lot has changed for the Baltimore Orioles since Colton Cowser last played. He made his comeback from a broken left thumb on Tuesday night against the Seattle Mariners, hitting a home run in a 5-1 win. The teams will continue their three-game series on Wednesday night.
Cowser, who was the runner-up for the American League’s Rookie of the Year award last season, fractured his thumb while sliding into first base in the fourth game of the season, which led to a tough period for the Orioles. Manager Brandon Hyde was let go on May 17 when the team’s record was 15-28.
Although the Orioles are still at the bottom of the AL East, they have begun to improve, winning four consecutive games and seven of their last nine.

When asked if he noticed any changes upon his return, Cowser humorously replied, “I’ve been here for a grand total of two hours.” He also mentioned feeling good to be back with his teammates, highlighting the positive personalities in the clubhouse.
Interim manager Tony Mansolino noted that Cowser’s presence was definitely missed. “He contributes to outfield defense, baserunning, offense, and drawing walks—he can influence games in many ways. He’s not just a one-dimensional player,” Mansolino said. “His big personality is also a great addition to the clubhouse.”.

With Cedric Mullins on the injured list due to a right hamstring strain, Cowser started in center field on Tuesday. Mansolino added that they will proceed carefully with the 25-year-old following his long absence.
