Georgia Tech receive big news
Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King has found a new NIL opportunity. The Texas native will soon have his own children’s book. ‘Haynes King: A Helluva Quarterback’ is available for pre-order through Exit 56 Publications. One of four books published featuring college stars and focuses on King’s football journey.
“A football player is all I ever wanted to be,” an excerpt from the book read. “I didn’t grow up playing video games. I loved dressing up in college football uniforms with full pads and playing ALL day.” King transferred to Georgia Tech from Texas A&M.
He was a standout quarterback at Longview High School, guiding his team to a state title for the first time in eight decades in 2018.
King has been the Yellow Jackets starter over the past two seasons. He has thrown for nearly 5,000 yards with 41 touchdowns and 18 interceptions while in Atlanta. Andrew Vodopia worked closely with King and his family to author the book.
He saw this as a passion project and felt compelled to share King’s story to the masses. “I saw two women wearing King #10 jerseys,” Vodopia said in the foreword of the book.
“I approached them and asked about the jerseys. It turns out it was his mother and grandmother. I introduced myself by being careful not to interfere with their pregame experience. Jodie, Haynes’s mother, assured me it was okay to be speaking to her and that she was interested in learning more about the books. I showed her a prior book and she took down my name.”
Haynes King: A Helluva Quarterback will be released May 1. The book currently costs $50 for an autographed copy and $25 unsigned via Exit 56’s website.
