Georgia Bulldogs Receive Unfortunate News on Tuesday Evening

The 2025 NFL Combine is in the rear view mirror, but the talk surrounding this year’s NFL Draft is just getting started. While Georgia football had an impressive 12 participants take part in the Combine this year, Georgia had 14 Bulldogs invited. Yes, that means that two Bulldogs chose to sit out instead of pariticipating.

Those two Bulldogs were Mykel Williams and Jalon Walker. It was unclear why both players chose to do this when they made this announcement days before the Combine began, but Walker just made it known why he chose to sit out. And that is because he suffered an unfortunate injury.

Jalon Walker to miss crucial Pro Day this month

According to ESPN’s Jordan Reid, Walker will not take part in Georgia’s upcoming Pro Day on March 14 because of a quad strain suffered during training earlier this offseason.

Missing out on either the Combine or Georgia’s Pro Day would not be that big of a deal for a player like Walker because he is a guaranteed first round pick in this year’s NFL Draft. However, missing both the Combine and the Pro Day is not a great sign as this will now force NFL organizations to second guess whether they want to use their first round draft pick on him or not.

Thankfully Walker will host a private workout on April 17th which is one week before the NFL Draft. NFL teams will be able to attend this workout so they can see firsthand if he is still injured and if so how much.

It does not sound like this injury is too serious, because if it was then he wouldn’t risk working out at all. So the fact that he will hold a workout later this spring is a great sign. But hopefully Walker is able to recover fast, because it would not be fun to see his draft stock plummet over an injury right before the Draft.
