Georgia football and Kirby Smart have clearly defined which positions they are focusing on most during this recruiting cycle. While all positions are important, some hold more weight than others, and offensive tackle is among the top priorities.
The Bulldogs appear to be pursuing every top offensive tackle in the nation this year, with many of them listing Georgia as one of their finalists as they narrow down their options. Unfortunately, this was not the case for a five-star recruit from Texa

Felix Ojo is a five-star offensive tackle from Mansfield, Texas. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, he is the 18th overall player in the nation, the 3rd offensive tackle in the 2026 recruiting class, and the 2nd best player from Texas.
Earlier this month, Ojo listed his top eight schools, which included Georgia. However, shortly after, Steve Wiltfong from On3 predicted that Ojo would commit to Texas, which was not the news Georgia fans wanted to hear. With ample time left in the recruiting cycle, there was optimism that Coach Smart and his staff could change that outcome and potentially overtake the Longhorns.
Unfortunately, that hope is diminished as Ojo has scheduled official visits this summer with Ole Miss, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, and Oklahoma.
The silver lining for UGA is that they remain in a strong position with many other top offensive tackles in this class, including Jackson Cantwell and Immanuel Iheanacho, who are both rated higher than Ojo.

If Georgia can secure just one of these two players, the impact of losing Ojo may not be felt in the long run.
