“Highly Conflicting” Forwards Alexandre Texier, Kasperi Kapanen miss Blues practice on Wednesday

Forwards Alexandre Texier and Kasperi Kapanen did not practice with the Blues on Wednesday morning at SAP Center in San Jose, as Blues coach Drew Bannister called it a “maintenance day for both of them.”

Texier and Kapanen both played in the Blues’ season-opening 3-2 win over the Kraken on Tuesday afternoon and are still expected to be in the lineup Thursday night when St. Louis plays the Sharks.
“We’ll see how they feel in the morning (on Thursday),” Bannister said. “I don’t think it’s going to be an issue where they miss games, but we thought we’d keep them off the ice here (Wednesday) just to get them the extra day.”

Texier played 13:03 while mostly playing on a line with Pavel Buchnevich and Jordan Kyrou. Kapanen logged 17:37 primarily playing alongside captain Brayden Schenn and Mathieu Joseph.
