UAB football’s all-time leader in all-purpose yards has found a new way to contribute to the program after five seasons with the Blazers.
Former UAB running back Jermaine “Skull” Brown Jr. announced on the social media platform X on Monday that he has returned to UAB, this time serving as an offensive quality control coach for running backs.
From 2019 to 2023, the Prichard native amassed 5,026 all-purpose yards, making him one of three UAB student-athletes to surpass 3,000 career yards. When he last donned the Blazer uniform, he had accumulated 30 rushing touchdowns.
During the 2023 season, Brown topped the American Athletic Conference with an average of 129.5 all-purpose yards per game. He recorded 13 total touchdowns, alongside 808 rushing yards, 416 receiving yards, and 331 yards from returns. He was also invited to the 2024 Minnesota Vikings’ rookie minicamp.
UAB kicked off the season on Thursday with a dominant 41-3 win over Alcorn State and will be taking on ULM in Monroe, Louisiana, on Saturday.
