Alim McNeill is set to become one of the highest-paid interior defensive linemen in the NFL after agreeing to a four-year extension with the Detroit Lions that is worth $97 million, with $55 million guaranteed.
This represents a wee bit of a raise from his expiring rookie contract, which is worth around $5 million. McNeill has become a foundational part of the Lions’ roster since they took him in the third round of the 2021 draft. He collected a pair of sacks this past weekend in Detroit’s blowout win over the Cowboys.
