First off, we are happy to confirm two much awaited test matches between Japan and the Vodafone Fijiana 15 squad. These games serve as a platform to show off our players’ extraordinary talent and skill to the local fan base in addition to being an exciting sporting event.

Additionally, Fiji Rugby is pleased to announce that the Vodafone Fijiana 15s squad will be competing in the esteemed Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship, the region’s highest premier women’s rugby championship. This competition has played a significant role in supporting the expansion and advancement of women’s rugby throughout Oceania since its founding in 2016.

Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, and Tonga will all have national women’s teams competing in the Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship in 2024. Three match days—May 24, May 29, and June 2—will be dedicated to this thrilling competition in Brisbane.

We are excited to announce that the test matches against Japan will be the first home test matches of 2024 for both the men’s and women’s teams, as part of our commitment to developing women’s rugby in Fiji. Given that the final test played in Fiji was against Canada in 2022, these matches are especially important.

Additionally, Fiji Rugby has invested in athletes through 12-month contracts, demonstrating its commitment to the growth of women’s rugby. Our dedication to giving our athletes the resources and assistance they require to flourish in their athletic pursuits is reflected in this investment.

Furthermore, with 10 scheduled matches, the Vodafone Fijiana 15’s squad is poised to play a record amount of tests in a calendar year, underscoring the increasing demand and awareness for women’s rugby around the world.

Fiji Rugby would like to thank Vodafone, our sponsor, for their important assistance as we get ready for these exciting matchups. To make sure that our team is suitably ready for the impending exams, we are aware that we need more sponsors. We encourage companies and groups to work with us to support women’s rugby and further our objectives.
