Following his £21 million transfer to Goodison Park in the summer of 2020, Brazilian midfielder Allan was optimistic about replicating his success from his notable five-year tenure at Napoli.

He featured in 24 games during the 2020/21 Premier League season, starting in all but one of Everton’s initial 13 matches. Nonetheless, a muscle injury sidelined him for the entirety of January and February. He made his comeback in March and reclaimed his spot in the starting lineup.

Allan retained his position in the starting lineup in the next season, with both Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard taking charge. While he remained a key player under Benitez, his role diminished under Lampard. The Brazilian started only nine games under the Chelsea alum and was absent from four out of the final five Premier League matches in the 2021/22 campaign.
